Men’s Health Physiotherapy focuses on the assessment and treatment of physical conditions affecting the pelvic, urinary, and bowel systems.
Common conditions treated include:
- Sports-related pelvic injuries
- Pre- and post-prostatectomy recovery
- Prostatitis
- Erectile dysfunction
- Chronic constipation
- Urinary leakage or incontinence
- Pelvic pain syndrome
Your initial assessment will involve a detailed discussion about your symptoms, how they impact your day-to-day life, and any relevant medical history. This allows your physiotherapist to understand the full picture and tailor your care accordingly.
Treatment aims to help you restore normal function and optimally manage your symptoms through an individualised management plan. This may include:
Education and lifestyle advice
- Pelvic floor and core rehabilitation
- Exercise-based rehabilitation
- Symptom management strategies
Because Men’s Health Physiotherapy is a specialist area, we recommend a short informal phone consultation before booking to ensure the service is right for you.
What to Expect
Your session will begin with a confidential conversation about your symptoms, including urinary, bowel, and sexual function, as well as previous treatments or surgeries.
A physical assessment will follow, similar to a standard physiotherapy session. Depending on your symptoms, your therapist may advise assessment of the pelvic floor and surrounding areas. If required, the purpose and process of this assessment will be clearly explained before proceeding.
Following your assessment, your therapist will discuss the findings and agree a personalised treatment plan with you. This may involve exercises, pain management strategies, or advice to help address issues such as urinary or bowel symptoms, pelvic pain, or sexual dysfunction.
Our goal is to help you regain comfort, confidence, and control.
