Richard Higgs, Physiotherapist (on the right)

I founded Richard Higgs Physiotherapy in Heald Green five years ago when I moved to the village with my young family. As a chartered physiotherapist registered with the HCPC and CSP, I have been qualified for nearly a decade and have worked extensively in both the NHS and private sectors. I am also an ex-Great Britain age group triathlete and keen runner with Heald Green Runner.

I combine evidence-based treatment with genuine compassion, ensuring each patient receives personalised care tailored to their specific goals and circumstances.

Services I Offer:

  • Musculoskeletal physiotherapy
  • Sports massage
  • Radial Shockwave Therapy
  • Elderly rehabilitation (home visits)
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation
  • Sports injury treatment and recovery

Leira Pamp

Chartered Physiotherapist and Personal Trainer

I come from a background of health and fitness, starting working in a gym in late 2019. As I progressed through my health and fitness qualifications at the gym, I came to realise that these courses wouldn’t allow me to work with the people I truly wanted to work with; people with complex health conditions and mobility struggles, who needed someone with patience to help them get their function back.

Across my degree I have worked with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities in my personal training business. I am a regular in the gym and enjoy various styles of dance in my spare time, and I started Olympic weightlifting in January of 2025. Following completion of my degree and subsequent registration with the HCPC and CSP, I’m excited to start working with Richard in the Heald Green community.

Each person is different, and I do not believe in “copy and paste” treatment programmes. I treat people based on their symptoms and the activity they want to get back to doing, because each person’s ability is unique and should be supported.
Services I Offer:
  • Musculoskeletal physiotherapy
  • Sports Massage
  • Elderly Rehabilitation (Home Visits)
  • Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Physiotherapy

Lily Roper

Massage Therapist

From sunny Scarborough, I came to Manchester to complete my Physiotherapy degree, alongside Level 3 and Level 4 Sports Massage qualifications.

My training has shaped how I understand the body as a whole, particularly how tension and posture influence how we feel and perform.

I have worked across a range of NHS settings, where I saw how effective hands-on treatment can be. Evidence-based massage and mobilisation techniques can ease stress, reduce pain, and support long-term movement. Seeing the meaningful difference this makes in people’s lives is what ultimately drew me to sports massage.

Everyone deserves to feel good in their body. As a wellness enthusiast and a real people person, I take the time to listen to your individual needs so we can work together on a personalised, sustainable approach. Every session is centred around you – because no one knows your body better than you do.
Services I Offer:
  • Sports and Deep Tissue Massage

I have used Richard for two separate issues in the last. On both occasions he has responded quickly to the request for an appointment. His explanations are really clear and his diagnoses and treatment plans have been spot on in both cases.

Richard gave me a quick diagnosis and a strength-building plan to get me over a persistent calf injury, which had stopped me running. It was a clear, easy-to-follow plan which solved the problem and will help me avoid further injuries in the future.
